NASHVILLE, TN — Isabelle Tate, a breakout talent who recently made her television debut on 9-1-1: Nashville, has died at the age of 23. Her family confirmed she passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 19 following complications from Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a rare and progressive neuromuscular disorder.

Tate’s death comes just weeks after her first appearance on the hit FOX drama, where she played Julie, a vibrant bachelorette party guest whose scene opposite series regular Hunter McVey drew praise for its warmth and authenticity.

“She brought something electric to the screen,” said 9-1-1: Nashville showrunner Dana Liu. “You could feel her joy, her spark. It was her first role, but she carried herself like a seasoned pro.”

Born and raised in Nashville, Tate studied business at Middle Tennessee State University before returning to her childhood passion for acting. She landed the 9-1-1: Nashville role on her very first audition—an achievement her agent called “a testament to her talent and tenacity.”

Behind the scenes, Tate was known for her resilience and radiant spirit. Diagnosed at age 13 with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, she faced increasing mobility challenges in recent years, sometimes using a wheelchair. In a 2022 social media post, she wrote: “I don’t know why these were the cards I was dealt in life, but I can’t change it—so I’m choosing to embrace it.”

Friends and colleagues described her as a fierce advocate for disability awareness, a lover of animals, and a gifted singer-songwriter who often brought her guitar to set.

“She was full of fire, a fighter,” said her mother, Katerina Kazakos Tate. “But more than that, she was kind. She made everyone feel seen.”

Tate is survived by her mother and stepfather Vishnu Jayamohan, her father John Daniel Tate, and her younger sister Daniella. The family has asked for privacy and encouraged donations to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association in Isabelle’s memory.

FOX has announced that the next episode of 9-1-1: Nashville will include an in memoriam tribute to Tate. Fans have already begun sharing clips of her scene with the hashtag #JulieWasReal, celebrating the young actress’s brief but unforgettable impact.

“She gave us a glimpse of something beautiful,” said McVey. “And we’ll carry that with us.”
